Helping people is the easy part.

Running a business shouldn't feel this hard.

The Uncomplicating Business Lab is a year-long membership for women running service-based businesses - built to make running the business as boring (and predictable) as the work you love is energizing.

The "is this you?" gut-check:

You're really, really good at the thing you do.

And the business side of doing it — marketing, selling, pricing, content, networking, the endless to-dos — takes up WAYYYY more of your brain, time, and energy than you'd like.

You came to business after building skill somewhere else. Teaching. Counseling. Creating. Leading. A specialty you're known for. You are definitely NOT new to work... you're just new to this kind of work.

You want:

Consistent income — the kind that doesn't depend on luck, hustle, or that one big client.

To know what to do next without re-inventing the wheel every Monday.

Support — but not the price tag (or intensity) of 1:1 coaching.

A community — but not another Facebook group full of people you can't relate to.

If that's you? You belong with the Uncomplicators. (yes, that's what people in the Lab are called!)

The Lab makes business boring on purpose.

boring business (/BORE-ing BIZ-niss/) n. Simple, straightforward to-dos that you never have to guess at... and that creates consistent, reliable, predictable results.

In the Lab, we make business boring on purpose. Because when the business is boring, the work — the part you love, the part that actually helps your people — gets to be the star of the show.

We don't do shiny tactics. We don't do secret formulas. We don't do 47-step systems that take an engineering degree to follow. We do clear direction, simple action, and the same four pillars used over and over again to make it simple and easy for them to stick.

Making business boring so work can be fun.

What's inside the Lab?

When you join the Uncomplicating Business Lab, you get a full year of:

  • The Uncomplicated Business Framework™  — Ground, Plan, Connect, Sell. Four pillars to anchor everything you do in your business. And you don't have to start at the start - you start at your start. Walk in wherever you need to walk in.

  •  A "Getting Started" mini-course library  — one short course per pillar, 4–5 modules each. Short videos plus reflection prompts. The kind of thing you can finish on a lunch break and immediately use that afternoon.

  •  Two live sessions every week  — one 55-minute Coworking session (show up live, declare which pillar you're working on, get accountability from real humans, pull me into a breakout when you need help) PLUS a themed focus session that rotates through Goal Setting, Live Coaching, Learning, and Reflection across the four weeks of the month. Once a month, the Coworking session becomes Offer Hours — a focused, group-wide work block on creating and sharing your sales offers.

  • Feed-based prompts  — short, useful nudges that keep your business brain plugged into the pillars without taking your day over.

  • Selling for Weirdos, baked in  — my signature sales course ($997 on its own) included for the full year, no extra cost.

  • The Lab community on Heartbeat — ongoing discussion, Q&A threads, real-time support from members who get it.

  • Games, workshops, and live sessions  — ongoing implementation pushes that make taking action easier than overthinking it.

  • The GPCS Self-Assessment — a quick scoring tool that helps you spot which pillar to focus your energy on first, so you stop spreading yourself thin.

The Uncomplicated Business Framework™

Four pillars. Always the same. Always available.

The framework isn't a sequence. There's no "finish Ground before you move to Plan", or 'right path.' You enter where you need to enter, work where you need to work, and move between the pillars fluidly as your business changes. That's the point - a framework that flexes with the season you're in, not one that demands you start over every time something shifts.

Ground

Root down into what you know, who you help, and what's already working. Use being grounded as the starting point for every action you take. Spot the moment you've drifted off-center, and know exactly how to come back.

Plan

Build plans that are easier to follow than to abandon. Know the difference between meta plans, mini plans, and day-to-day plans — and use each one when it actually serves you. Learn when to revise without "starting over."

Connect

Be a real human talking to real humans. Build the kind of business relationships that grow you (and the people you connect with). No "leveraging." No feeling beholden. No ick.

Sell

Sell your work without becoming someone you don't recognize. Pricing that works for you. Mindsets that let success stay. Selling that feels like service — because, when you do it right, that's what it is.

So... what does a month in the Lab *actually* look like?

Here's the deal. No surprises, no overwhelming calendar, no "wait, what was I supposed to do this week?" panic.

  • Every weekday: A short prompt to plug you back into the pillars. Reading time: under a minute.
  • Every week — two live sessions: a 55-minute Coworking session (member-led, you declare your pillar) plus a themed focus session that rotates across the month.

Across a four-week month, the themed sessions cover:

  • Goal Setting & Action Planning — choose your focus for the month and decide what you'll do (and not do) to make it happen.
  • Live Group Coaching — bring the real-time questions, struggles, and goals you're working through. Get coached in front of (and supported by) the group.
  • Learning — a focused skill-building session on something specific in one of the pillars (pricing changes, sales calls, networking processes — whatever the month calls for).
  • Reflection & Next Steps — look at what worked, what was hard, what you want to do differently. So each month builds on the last instead of resetting from zero.

  • Once a month: the Coworking session becomes Offer Hours — a focused group block on building, refining, or launching your sales offers.
  • Anytime, all year: the Getting Started mini-courses, the full Selling for Weirdos course, daily prompts, and the Lab community on Heartbeat.

That's it. Rhythm and repetition until the business part stops eating your brain — and the work you love gets the spotlight back.

Who the Lab is for (and who it isn't):

The Lab is for you if…

  • You run a service-based business with a teaching bent — you help people learn, grow, change, or do something they couldn't do before.
  • You've been at this 3+ years and you're done with the "starting over every quarter" cycle.
  • You came to business from another career — teaching, counseling, creating, leading, a specific subject — and you're here to help people through what you know. The business part of doing that is what's tripping you up.
  • You're great at the work, frustrated by the business side, and tired of feeling like you're re-inventing the wheel.
  • You want support without 1:1 pricing — and DIY without going it alone.
  • You're ready to actually do the work. Not just keep researching it.

The Lab is not for you if…

  • You're brand new to business and still figuring out what you do or who you help.
  • You want a done-for-you service where someone else runs your business.
  • You're looking for a six-week course with a finish line. (This is implementation, not information.)
  • You're shopping for hype, hacks, urgency tactics, or seven-figure promises. You came to the wrong door, and I'd genuinely rather you go find what fits.

Hi, I'm Sara and I'm here to be useful.

I'm the founder of the Uncomplicating Business Lab, the creator of Selling for Weirdos, and a business coach. I grow businesses through simplicity, owning my weirdness, and sheer stubbornness — and I've been doing that for clients for nearly 10 years.

I'm a forever (not former) teacher. Over the last 20+ years I've coached teachers, salespeople, and business owners - people just like you - to build the simple systems, sticky habits, and flexible processes that drive consistent, reliable, stable success.

My job as your coach is to be the bowling-lane bumpers on your success - to keep you from spinning out of your lane while you do the work of being all of yourself for the people you're meant to help.

My clients have used the Uncomplicated Business Framework to build businesses that produced millions of dollars in revenue — while also building lives they actually like. The "also" is the important part.

I know what running a business while running a life is like. In my own house there are two teen-ish kids, a 70-lb t-rex-shaped puppy, and a business that will out-earn last year — not because I hustled harder or slept less, but because the business grows with my life. Not in spite of it.

That's the kind of business I want to help you build, too.

Summer 'Launch' Bonuses :) (because why not?!)

Open through June 30 — or until 25 people have joined. Whichever comes first.

The Uncomplicating Business Lab is going through a summer launch (even though I hate the word 'launch') right NOW. New mini-courses. Two live sessions every week. Updated rhythm. Same core: the framework, the community, the support, Selling for Weirdos.

Join the Lab during the summer launch window and you'll get these extras baked into your year — no extra cost, no upsell:

  • 2 private 45-minute onboardings call with me. In your first month, we'll map where you are across the pillars and which Lab tools to lean into first; then, after month 3, we'll check-in and update your next steps, 1:1($600 value!)
  • Quarterly small-group Q&A calls with me for your full first year — only for Uncomplicators who joined during the launch window.

Once June 30 hits - or 25 people have jumped into the Lab - they bonuses will go away, just like your favorite snacks in a house full of teenagers. (#askmehowIknow, ha!)

Claim my Summer Launch Bonuses!

And your risk on the year is 10 days.

*If you join the Lab and decide within 10 days that it's not for you, say so. Full refund. No questions. No awkwardness.

What people are saying...

From the Uncomplicators:

"The value FAR exceeds the dollar amount invested."

Life as an entrepreneur can feel lonely, but every group program I've been in with Sara has resulted in ongoing friendship with and support from at least one other member — never mind the actual coaching value we receive from Sara. The value FAR exceeds the dollar amount invested.

— Clarissa, ParenT(w)een Connection founder, Founding Lab Member

From a client I've coached through the framework:

"From a worried wanderer to a curious and courageous business owner."

Working with Sara has helped me move from feeling unsure to being entirely confident about our company's value, from being overwhelmed to taking action with clarity to grow my business, and from being a worried wanderer to a curious and courageous business owner who can make strategic moves.

— Kelly, founder, KDH Consulting

From the Selling for Weirdos course

(built into the Lab):

"This year has been very different - my business is profitable."

Thanks to Selling for Weirdos, this year has been very different — my business is profitable! The piece that was missing for me was how to create income in a way that felt right. The tools and reflection questions in Selling for Weirdos finally allowed me to see where I was blocking myself and my business.

— Deb, Transition Bridges

Questions you're probably asking...

"A year feels like a lot. Can I really commit to that?"

A year is the point. The Lab is built for habits and systems that stick - and habits and systems take more than six weeks to wire in. The good news: if you join and realize within 10 days it's not for you, you get a full refund. After that, you have a whole year to use everything the Lab offers, and then you can renew month-to-month, renew for another year, or wrap up. No subscription trap, no "auto-billing for life," no surprise renewals.

"How much time per week is this actually going to take?"

Show up to both live sessions and read the daily prompts and you're at roughly 2 hours a week - this is where accountability and implementation begin. When you have more time, you dive into the mini-courses or Selling for Weirdos in a given week. Less when life is loud. The Lab is built to flex with the season you're in — every session is recorded, and the framework is always there when you come back.

"What if I get behind, miss a few weeks, or fall off?"

Nothing breaks. Show back up. The framework is always the same, the community is always there, the recordings stay up, and there's no shame board for "skippers." Most members get just as much out of the Lab in their second season than their first — because they let it move with them, not over them. And also? If you're not around, we'll miss you, and I'll more than likely reach out just to make sure you're okay.

"How is this different from 1:1 coaching?"

1:1 is private, focused, intensive — and it costs about 8x what the Lab does. The Lab is for people who want consistent support, community, and a framework, without needing (or wanting) a private coaching container right now. If 1:1 is the better fit for you, I'll tell you that — and there's a separate page for it. If you're not sure what to do, book a time to talk on my calendar and we'll figure it out together.

"How is this different from a course?"

Courses give you information. The Lab gives you implementation. Most courses end. The Lab is a year of practice with a coach in the room, a community next to you, and a rhythm that actually shows up every week. Plus: the full Selling for Weirdos course is inside the Lab.

"I'm a [coach / therapist / consultant / educator / fractional X]. Is the Lab for me?"

If you're a service-based business owner with a teaching bent — coach, consultant, therapist, fractional anything, tutor, advisor, educator — yes. If you're not sure, email me directly. (I will absolutely tell you if it's not the right fit.)

"I've been thinking about this for ages. Why now?"

Because the longer "later" stays the answer, the longer you go without the thing you actually need. The summer launch bonuses also give you a real, time-limited reason to move now - the onboarding calls, and the quarterly Q&A calls don't come back once June 30 hits (or 25 people have joined, whichever comes first). But mostly: the cost of "thinking about it" for another quarter is another quarter of being stuck. Come do the work.

Ready to build a boring business that lets the work be the fun part?

The Summer launch bonuses are open right now. Two 45-minute onboarding calls. The quarterly Q&A calls.

The same Lab, in its strongest version yet.
