From one teacher-helper-giver to another...


I always knew I'd be a teacher. And when I was 21 I thought that I'd always BE a teacher in the most traditional sense - in my own classroom, 10 month of the year.  Until - surprise! - I wasn't. In 2004 I was tapped by my district to become a teacher-coach (before anyone knew what the heck that even was...). 7 years later we got another surprise - my husband's job moved out of state, taking us with it - and I found myself in the corporate world coaching sales people. 2 kids and 6 years of working with teachers, school districts, librarians, and sales people all over the country and world, I found myself with TWO problems: I missed teaching, and I had a business idea :).


I left the corporate world to start my first business (exSTEMsions!), and to teach math to college students part time. 3 years later I started my coaching practice after a friend kindly (firmly, ha!) pointed out that I was coaching my friends, colleagues, and friends of friends on their businesses because it's just what I do best.

And while the story, told like this, sounds neat, tidy, and simple... it was ANYTHING but. As a new business owner who really just LOVED to help people and teach, I made ALL. THE. MISTAKES. I spent too much money on things I didn't need, I built alllll the stuff, and I didn't have any idea how to make my work visible to the people who needed it. I avoided selling and asking for money, hid from stuff that scared me without even realizing it, and made growing way way way too complicated. I found success but the longest and most painful way possible. When I eventually hired my first coach (which took ages because I had allll the teacher thoughts about spending that $$!), it was the beginning of doing things DIFFERENTLY. And I knew then that I could use MY struggles + experience to help YOU succeed way faster and with way more EASE.


Today I use my teacher-abilities to ask the right question at the right time, to see patterns, and clearly communicate complex ideas, along with my nearly 20 years of coaching experience, and my experiences as a entrepreneur to simplify success for YOU.

Have you ever thought...

... I would tell people about what I do more, but I just don't want to seem 'salesy'.

... I can't share that again, people are going to get tired of me (or, I'd be bothering them).

... I WOULD connect with my ideal client... if someone would just tell me how to FIND them.

 You don't have to be salesy to be successful. In fact, you don't really have to 'sell' at all. You can give. You can invite. And that can be MORE THAN enough. I'm proof, and so are my clients.


Finding (and connecting with) your ideal people isn't as complicated as it's feeling right now. Networking, connecting, meeting the people you want to serve and talking to them about what you do is simpler (and more fun) than you think.


 It's not that you aren't consistent - it's that your expectations of your consistency aren't actually achievable. The good news is that you don't have to be anywhere near perfectly consistent to be wildly successful.


And. It's NOT that you don't have a process. Actually, you DO have one... you just might not have 'uncovered' it yet.  Once you see it, using YOUR process successfully is really just a matter of fine tuning it to make it work with EASE for YOU.
